Stars in the Heavens



Pretty paper stars!!! Made and mailed to me in time for Christmas by a long time friend (two decades now???) Keep forgetting to post photos of the three stars so here you go!
 Above on the left is one made of light blue paper;
Above on the right is one made of dark blue paper


I think this one might be my favorite because every other point is made of a different shade of blue which is neat!  I cannot make these, but they are lovely





EDIT 12:12am on January 31st JANUARY 30th post!  Eeep!  Technically I am off of posting something every single day now.  *disappointed* Blargh.  Oh well. I still made the post -- does that count? Started doing something here daily the last months of 2012 and intend to continue... I have decided this post counts.  Either that or I shall randomly post now.

Night Sky


As usual, I found this amazing image of the night sky online -- this was taken during a meteor shower on New Years Eve (2012) -- just a couples nights ago!  I LOVE these colors, the stars, the openness of the space the photographer was standing in and just had to share this!  Shall be posting about the Rose Parade soon. Hope today is a good day!

Raindrops keep falling on my head


I have those lyrics floating around in my mind now that the weather has finally (knock on wood!) gotten cooler! "Raindrops keep falling on my head"... Have realized that I miss spending time with young kids, and am going to look to volunteer again.  Am also going to continue walking three (or four?) days a week and read two books a week.  Small steps, yet I want to make sure I can achieve the goals I set. Tomorrow I want to be sure to do laundry, perhaps wash my bedding as well... The doctor appt today went alright, I have another on Thursday and then two more next week.  One foot in front of the other, right?  Things will be alright and in the meantime I think I shall go back and look through photos of my godson and his twin sister to remind me of how much fun those munchkins were during their visit this past summer! The night sky has been helping me remember my "France family" although I have not yet made it to the beach nor the mountains -- the moon and some stars have been visible on various nights, very pretty!

The stars line up


"There’s this place in Ireland where every 2 years, the stars line up with this trail on June 10th-June 18th. It’s called the Heaven’s Trail."

This image (and description) were posted on Face.Book by a friend of mine and I had to copy it -- so beautiful!! Ireland is on my list of places that I would like to visit if I get the opportunity and I will be looking to figure out exactly where this is located because I would love to view it myself!!

This week I finally managed to make it to the "new" farmer's market (yet I forgot to take photos!)... Technically it has been up and running since -July??- but I was working, sick, or just too low on energy to make it over for a visit :(  Since I am not working at the moment due to various health stuff, I was able to look at tons of goodies!  Although purchases did include "regular" items such as lettuce, tomatoes, apples -- there was also a shirt table to help raise funds to keep the market up and running as well as a tent that had small cups of ice cream (I got a long-sleeved burgundy/dark red shirt with the market logo on it and tried a small butterscotch because they were all out of chocolate already).  It was also an excellent exercise motivation for me - walking to there, around there, and back. Does not sound like much but in comparison to my recent "usual" weeks it was another good example of getting out and I shall be trying to include the market day in my weekly walks/outings.  I did forget to go by the dry cleaners but that can wait :)
